The Rev. Tony Setley
Hi, I'm Pastor Tony. I've been called to serve as Pastor of St. Paul since June, 2021. Since 2013, I've been a commissioned Army officer and Chaplain with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Prior to serving at St. Paul, I was the Chaplain at the Lutheran Campus Ministry at WVU for 4 years and concurrently the interim Priest-in-charge of St. Thomas a Becket Episcopal for 18 months.
My first call into the ministry was at Peace Lutheran and St. Thomas Episcopal churches in Port Clinton, Ohio. I've also served as student Vicar at Mellingers Lutheran Church in Lancaster County and as the appointed preacher for St. John Lutheran in Hampton, PA. I'm a native of Berks County, PA and graduated from and played football at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA - Go Dutchmen!
After working for the Boy Scouts of America and in campaign politics, I discerned a call to ministry while a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, PA. I graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. While there I met my wife, Stephanie, a WVU grad who introduced me to Morgantown. Together we have one son, Sammy, and two dogs, Salvatore & Sisu. I am a member of American Legion Post 174 and serve as the Chaplain for the 2nd District - Dept. of WV. I also volunteer as a law enforcement organization chaplain and football coach.
